ERC: On metabolic pathway
A short film presenting Dr Janusz Bujnicki and Marcin Nowotny from The Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Protein Engineering in Warsaw. Dr Bujnicki – head of Bioinformatics and Protein Engineering Laboratory. He is involved in theoretical and experimental research on sequence – structure – function relationship in proteins and nucleic acids and macromolecular complexes. In 2010 Dr Bujnicki received the European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant (2011 – 2015) of 1500000 EUR for the project: „Breaking the code of RNA sequence – structure – function relationship: New strategies and tools for modelling and engineering of RNA and RNA – protein complexes”. He is also an awardee of the ERC Proof of Concept grant of 149970 EUR (2013-2013). Dr Nowotny – head of the Laboratory of Protein Structure, which focuses on structural and biochemical studies of nucleic acid enzymes using protein crystallography as a primary method. In 2011 he received the ERC founding grant to conduct a research on: „Structural studies of Nucleotide Excision Repair complex”. The grant of 1498000 EUR has started in 2012 and will end in 2016.
